The college applied to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for accreditation for the first time during the academic year 2001‒2002. The NAAC scrutinized the application, visited the college and inspected it, and was awarded the highest grade of Five Star for the period 2001‒2006. In continuation of the process of accreditation, the college applied for re-accreditation in 2007 and was awarded "A" Grade according to the non-CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) procedure. Now the college has applied again for its second NAAC re-accreditation in January 2012. The NAAC Peer Team has visited the college in October 2012. IQAC has organised a database and initiated NAAC related activities on the basis of the seven criteria outlined by the NAAC, namely Curricular Aspects, Teaching-Learning and Evaluation, Research, Consultancy and Extension, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Student Support and Progression, Governance and Leadership and Innovative Practices. And finally NAAC has given Re‒Accreditation with Highest Grade of "A" and a CGPA of 3.37 in January 2013, valid up to January 2018.
The IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell)‒NAAC office aims at strengthening the activities of the college on the criteria listed above, and at scoring the highest grade for the college. The office conducts meetings for all the departments to get the data for reports that are periodically sent to the NAAC. IQAC also sends AQAR periodically to NAAC. IQAC Conducts periodical training programmes for the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff.
